The Diocese of Bondo celebrated its centenary of evangelization officially on January 26th, 2020. The Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish of Limbasa, served by the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus, was significantly chosen as the opening venue for the centenary celebration. For it was in the territory of this parish that evangelisation began and spread throughout the diocese. And to better celebrate this feast, a program of spiritual activities was established covering from 21st January to 2nd february 2020, namely : The popular mission, animated by the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) group, the conference on the history of the diocese, the planting of crosses, respectively at the main entrance of the new parish church of Limbasa and at the entrance of Ndukula chapel, where the first missionaries built the first church, located about twenty kilometres from Bondo centre, which today has become a spiritual place of pilgrimage for all the Christians of the Diocese of Bondo.
During the celebration, His Excellency Bishop Etienne, bishop of Bondo diocese, conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation on about a hundred children from the various chapels of the parish and ordained Bienvenu SINANGO as deacon. The day ended with various activities such as : Religious concert, folk dances, and the sharing of a fraternal meal.
